Jose Antonio Camacho believes that Vicente del Bosque should continue

Former Real Madrid star Jose Antonio Camacho believes that Vicente del Bosque should continue as the Spain manager even after the Euro 2016.

The World Cup winning coach is expected to announce his decision to step down from the job after the European championships next month. The 65-year-old has so far not made it clear what his future holds. The recent disappointment of the World Cup 2014 seems to be playing a lot in his mind. Despite going into the World Cup 2014 as the reigning champions, Spain suffered an embarrassing group stage exit.

Many of the national team’s older players have either retired or have been dropped. Amidst the transition phase that even sees the national team pick Brazilian players like Diego Costa, Vicente del Bosque is reportedly unhappy with the negative attention that he has been getting in the last two years. The former Real Madrid manager has also been unable to bring about a strong upturn in results. Spain are no longer the dominant force than they were before the World Cup 2014. Unable to revive the national team’s form, it looks like del Bosque will announce his exit after the Euro 2016 irrespective of the result.

Camacho has experience of managing Spain and taking the national team to World Cup quarter-finals in 2002. "The coach who I like the most now is Vicente del Bosque and I think he certainly has to continue with the national team. I hope Spain win the Euros. All their rivals will be going for our team. I've seen Germany, Holland and France recently, and they all know that they have to play against Spain in a way where everyone has to run and sacrifice themselves. I know the list because I imagine it and I like it,” said del Bosque.
