Paulinho has been advised to end his partnership with gambling company

The 28 year old Brazilian midfielder Paulinho made his way into the Chinese Super League back on June of 2015 as he joined Guangzhou Evergrande by signing a 4 year-long deal.

Paulinho appears to be going through a memorable period of time as he helped Guangzhou Evergrande in winning the Chinese Super League during the 2016 season.

On January of 2017, Paulinho extended his contract with the Chinese club until 2020 and this just shows the impact he has made with Guangzhou Evergrande as well as the gratification that Paulinho is experiencing in China as he decided to stay for 3 more years.

Something that might affect Paulinho is his current alliance with an overseas betting company in which he was recently featured in an advert representing the company. Chinese authorities have told Paulinho to end whatever kind of relationship that he says with the gambling enterprise as China has strict rules when it comes to betting and pornography, both of which are illegal in the Asian country.

"Following an investigation, the representation was the player's own decision, and he has not reported it to his club. Guangzhou Evergrande have criticized Paulinho and asked him to stop the commercial activities with the betting company immediately in order to put an end to any similar activities in the future’’

The Chinese Super League has had issues in the past involving gambling with match fixing problems that have emerged and even though offloading a huge amount of cash in signing players is not illegal or anything of that matter, it has in a way or another affected the image of the Asian League as it’s quickly turning into a place where the clubs who spend more money have a huge advantage over those that don’t spend so much or just don’t have the financial freedom.
